Payment via PayPal is optional; by using PayPal the credit card information does not leave PayPal; if you instead use the normal credit card option, the information is transmitted via an SSL secured server. As of October, 2005 you can pay via PayPal without having to setup a PayPal account.

We do NOT charge a convenience fee nor any other type of surcharge to credit card purchasers.

Addsum Support (all software types)
GENERAL SUPPORT INFORMATION AND POLICIES: Support time relates to actual time spent on an identified incident or query that clearly falls outside the scope of installation/new purchase, equipment/hardware compatibility, sales or administrative inquiries. It is not limited to time spent on the phone but might also relate to responding to e-mails, faxes, fact finding or other investigation, remote control support, etc. Many/most support inquiries relate to circumstances that are not under our direct control nor even directly relate to settings or issues within the software we support, therefore, it is never possible to guarantee successful conclusion of any given incident (even though the vast majority of support inquiries are succesfully resolved), and support can only be provided on a "best efforts" basis. Types of products for which chargeable support is most typically provided: Advanced Accounting 5.1, Advanced Accounting 7i and 6.1, Btrieve 5.1 and 6.15, Pervasive (all versions), DBA EDI and general, TAS Professional, TAS Premier. We support customers throughout the world from our USA location. We do not outsource support. While we use voice mail for after hours messages and when no one is momentarily available to take a call during normal business hours, we do not use automated nor virtual voice/phone/reception services and you will normally find it easy to directly and quickly get in touch with us. We encourage you to call us at 801-277-9240 (or fax 801-277-4220) for support and particularly if it is an urgent situation. For electronic support, e-mail us at support@addsuminc.com. For TAS programming support use either the general support address or preferably tas@addsuminc.com. Support for established customers can also be provided via instant messenging.

PREPAID MINUTES: Minutes can be prepaid at a lower than normal rate and used as needed. These can apply to either accounting software or programming assistance. Once consumed, additional prepaid minutes need to be purchased. Prepaid minutes do not include software updates.

MONTHLY SUPPORT AND UPDATES FOR Advanced Accounting 7i: Monthly support with software updates are available subject to the criteria below. E-mail us at support@addsuminc.com for monthly cost which is dependent on the type of system and number of users. Criteria:

Criteria/details for monthly support/updates:
(1) Non-customized system or lightly modified system only.
(2) Paid monthly via autopay or check, or in advance (5% disc if prepaid in full in advance for 12 months).
(3) If paid by check: payment must be received by the 5th of the month; credit cards will be automatically processed by the 5th of each month.
(4) Includes unlimited number of support calls/events/issues (but does not include programming; relates to support only). However, see duration limit below.
(5) Any one call/event/issue is limited to a duration of 45 minutes (not necessarily consecutive). If any single/event/issue call requires more than 45 minutes to resolve (whether on the same date or on different dates in combination), then an additional cost of $1.75/min. (the lowest support rate provided to prepaid support time, and a rate that is 30% less than the normal per minute support rate) would apply and those supplemental minutes are billable and payable Net 10. The end user will be advised when this additional time is required unless it is authorized beforehand due to special circumstances.
(6) Software updates are installed remotely and as they become available during the year and/or when supported was being provided in connection with some other issue (this would not occur monthly but typically at least four times during the year). If the monthly support/updates plan is discontinued, then user would be entitled to receive a pro-rated discount for software updates for that year.
    Advantages of monthly support/updates:
  • User is encouraged to make contact for support sooner rather than later (trying to resolve initially without assistance may make the issue worse)
  • User is similarly encouraged to call with questions as to how to handle certain types of transactions and obtain other input from us on a more regular basis without worrying whether support charges apply. (While we do not charge for providing information about for example compatible operating systems, printers, etc., often those kinds of questions are "mixed in" with other questions are in fact supported related. When the user is a monthly plan, that distinction becomes moot).
  • Monthly/yearly software/support costs are for the most part, absent unusual circumstances, capable of being accurately predicted in advance for budgeting and other purposes.
  • User receives software updates more frequently.
  • Because we are in more regular contact with the end user's system, we may be in a position to be aware of developing issues and may be able to make recommendations to avoid problems sooner rather than later.

TAS Professional 3.0
TAS 3.0x is no longer sold, however, 2.0x users would otherwise have no way to move forward without the 2.0x to 3.0 conversion utility and a limited use copy of TAS Pro 3.03d. TAS 5.1 (see above) includes utilities to convert TAS 3.0 data dictionaries, data and source to 5.1, and from there users can convert from 5.1 to 7i.
