The new look of Advanced Accounting

Advanced Accounting reviews
November 2007: The CPA Technology Advisor, 2007 Review of Point-of-Sale Systems, 4 1/2 stars (out of 5), Advanced Accounting version 6.1 (Windows 32-bit). Link to 2007 review. The package received 5 stars for modules/scalability.

Excerpts from the 2007 review by Mary Girsch-Bock:

Advanced Accounting from Addsum Business Software, Inc. offers
retailers a complete accounting system along with a solid point-of-sale
module. All modules are included with the purchase of the product,
making Advanced Accounting very attractive to small businesses with
     limited budgets.

Advanced Accounting can be customized to suit a user’s needs, with
source code available if desired. Custom modifications can also be
performed by the vendor. Advanced Accounting can also easily expand
as a business grows, with the ability to manage multi-location inventory.

Advanced Accounting would be an excellent choice for the smaller retail
business that is looking to employ both front and back office functionality
in a single product. And with the SQL version available, this is a system
that a business will never outgrow.

Advanced Accounting 6.1 2006 CPA Tech Advisor Review
Excerpt from the 2006 review Mary Girsch-Bock:
This is an excellent product that provides retailers an affordable
POS solution along with a complete accounting package. While it does
not contain all the bells and whistles that are found in some of the
other programs reviewed here, its ease of use and affordability more
than make up for that. For a small investment, you’ll have a POS/accounting
program that you can use for a very long time.

December 2004: The CPA Technology Advisor, Point-Of-Sale Review, 4 1/2 stars (out of 5), Advanced Accounting version 6.1 (Windows 32-bit). Link to 2004 review. The software received an overall rating of 4 1/2 (out of 5) stars including 5 stars in the areas of modules/scalability, integration and relative value. The single-user Addsum Advanced Accounting version as well as the multi-user version version (by a significant margin) were the least expensive in the review of nine packages which included Intuit's QuickBooks/Point of Sale and Best Software's DacEasy/Point of Sale.

Excerpt from the 2004 review authored by Brent Dirks:
Advanced Accounting provides all the basic tools needed to open your
front office registers for business. This is a very economical package . . .

October 1998: The CPA Software News, Point-Of-Sale Review, Top Ten, Advanced Accounting version 5.1 (DOS/Windows 16-bit). Excerpt from the review authored by David B. Moody, CPA:
Advanced Accounting for Windows is a slick product that tightly integrates POS functions
with the accounting system. The POS module is well-designed to stand on its own as a
complete product. Combined with the other inventory and accounting features, you have
a product that will work well off-the-shelf for most small to medium-sized retailers.

Advanced Accounting's POS program is a well-designed package for a small retail store.
I was impressed with their Windows version and how it took good advantage of the environment
while maintaing a consistent line with its ancestor DOS version.
