Spool 32 errors
Previous  Top  Next

Spool 32 is a common printing error under WIN 95 and WIN 98 (including ME), a number of third party sites report that by the adding the following to WIN.INI can help reduce the incidence of this problem:

[windows]
run=
load=c:\windows\system\spool32.exe

Or load spool32.exe in the start-up folder.

Other possible/troubleshooting options:

·Disable print spooling
·Change spool data format from EMF to RAW
·Uninstall any recently installed printer/scanner drivers
·Use a newer or different printer driver (try also a universal print driver)
·Change ECP printer ports to standard ports (see MS Q141919)

See also MS Q191949.

To the extent that a spool 32 error causes a system crash, it is conceivable that data file corruption could result.
